“The smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls…bearing resiliently, on tiny and almost impalpable drops of their essence, the immense edifice of memory” Marcel Proust
There are ways to travel while remaining in perfect stillness.
Aromas act as invisible carriages that can transport us in a heartbeat back to a particular time, to a memory on the skin or to the spirit of a place.
Aromachology is the art and science of using naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to bring the mind, body, and spirit into balance.
The relationship between scent, memory, and emotions is central to aromachology. Whenever we encounter a scent or smell, it’s processed by the olfactory system, which receives the signal and passes the information into an area in the brain known as the limbic system. The limbic system is the oldest, most primitive part of our brain and plays a huge role in mood, memory, behaviour and emotion. It’s the reason a particular smell can spontaneously evoke a long-forgotten memory, transporting you back to times past in an instant.
When AMLY founder Lisa walked through our organic wildflower meadow just after the warm summer rain scattered across the land, the weaving of wet earth and wildflowers, the scent filled stillness in the air, the sense of place and the way it calmed and earthed her system ignited her curiosity: what happens when a moment in time is so exquisite, you feel called to share it with as many as people as possible?
We’re led by a never-ending passion for deepening connection with the natural world and creating a beauty line that connects it’s very essence to yours. Just as a fine artist captures the light and sense of a landscape through paint and brush, at Amly we use the wild abundant land as our palette.
Working with our armomachologist and our passion for science-based alchemy, we fused the finest organic ingredients with new generation, plant-based bioactives to create Radiance Boost: encapsulating the scent and the effect of that very moment in our wildflower meadow so you can be transported there the moment the scent drifts into your system.
